Charles R. Rondeau

Charles R. Rondeau has a unique and diverse legal background including a long and highly-distinguished career representing medical providers and injured workers in workers’ compensation proceedings. He has been on the forefront of the development of California workers’ compensation law and has successfully argued before the California Supreme Court and several District Courts of Appeal in some of the most important workers’ compensation cases in recent years, including State Compensation Ins. Fund v. Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (Sandhagen) and Valdez v. Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. In recognition of his preeminence, Charles is one of the most sought-after speakers on workers’ compensation law matters and has conducted numerous presentations for wide variety of workers’ compensation organizations, as well as the State Bar of California and the Division of Workers’ Compensation.   He is also a sitting Commissioner of the State Bar Workers’ Compensation Advisory Law Commission and will serve as its Vice-Chair in 2015-2016.

Prior to his career in workers’ compensation, Charles practiced in the fields of civil litigation, insurance bad faith and white collar criminal defense on the East and West Coasts, representing both individuals and business organizations.  He has tried numerous cases to verdict in both plaintiff personal injury and white collar crime.

• Represented some of the largest workers’ compensation medical service providers in complex proceedings including lien consolidation proceedings
• Obtained numerous six- and seven-figure settlements in civil litigation and workers’ compensation cases
• Successfully used a federal civil RICO complaint to obtain a substantial settlement against a hospital corporation for a group of physician-shareholders

• Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Advisory Law Commission of the State Bar of California (Incoming Vice-Chair, 2015-2016)
