To Friends, Family and Clients of Roxborough, Pomerance & Nye:
On December 1, 2007, our friend and long time colleague, Damon Ribakoff, passed away, succumbing to the toughest fight of his legal career…cancer. For more than two years, Damon fought this ugly disease in the same way he represented his clients—with grace, dignity, pride and persistence.
For those who knew Damon, he cared about others far more than he ever cared about himself. These words, however, inadequately express the depth and measure of his character. In an era of entitlement, Damon felt none. In a world of selfishness, Damon would have none of that. His clients, his family, and his friends always came first. To Damon, life was pretty simple. You worked hard, you cared about those who needed your help, you did your best, and you always made time for those you loved and who loved you. We loved Damon.
Damon will be missed, but to make sure that his name and memory will never be forgotten, his name will remain on our firm letterhead so that his contributions to our firm and the legal profession will forever be remembered.
Many of you have been touched by Damon’s kindness and friendship, and have asked for information regarding a manner in which to pay tribute to Damon. As many of you know, Damon’s proudest accomplishment and the love of his life was his daughter Alexis. In order to ensure that Alexis will enjoy the same education as her dad, we have set up a college fund for Alexis’ benefit. If you would like to make a contribution to Alexis college fund, then we invite you to send a check to our office made payable to the “Damon M. Ribakoff 2007 Revocable Trust.” We will be certain that all funds received are promptly deposited and immediately earmarked and credited to Alexis’ college fund.
