Nick Roxborough was interviewed by WorkCompCentral’s Jake Paris at the 2014 Comp Laude™ Gala after winning his award. During the interview, Nick shares his thoughts on improving the workers’ comp system in 2015:
1. Ensure legitimate injured workers get their fair share in indemnity benefits and medical care, which should not be at the expense of those who are rigging or gaming the system.
2. Curtail the number of suits brought on by carriers against providers to avoid paying legitimate medical costs for injured worker care. There’s been a real tendency in the last 3-5 years where carriers are taking on providers, rightfully and wrongfully, in civil court to leverage them into settlements simply to cut down the amount of costs in medical bills. This jeopardizes the amount and quality of medical care that is designed to be given to the injured worker in California.
