RPNA Partner Nick Roxborough—who has been leading the fight against the Division of Workers’ Compensation’s (DWC) underground regulations—will be moderating a panel at the CWC & Risk Conference on Friday, September 7, 2018.
Panelists Gabor Vari of California Medical Evaluators and Suzanne Honor-Vangerove, Esq. will be joining Mr. Roxborough to discuss how Qualified Medical Evaluators (QMEs) have been under attack by the DWC and the ripple effect of its actions on the workers’ compensation system—which has seen an exodus of QMEs—all of which has had an adverse impact on legitimately injured workers.
The expert panel will look at the fallout of two well-publicized lawsuits in this area where the DWC was found in violation and compelled to withdraw its initial four underground regulations, examining the DWC’s newly proposed amendments to the medical-legal fee schedule and continued consequences to injured workers, QMEs and overall quality of medical reporting in California.
Mr. Roxborough is a regular speaker at the CWC & Risk Conference, which is the premier conference and expo that attracts more than 1,700 risk management professionals each year. The 8th annual event will include more than 40 breakout sessions covering a variety of risk management topics such as safety, insurance and workers’ compensation.
