Trevor Witt practices in the areas of employment litigation, employer defense, class actions and general civil litigation.
He has extensive experience litigating in both state and federal courts, and in arbitration and administrative settings. Mr. Witt has represented employers before federal and California state courts, as well as federal and California administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the California Labor Commissioner. He has also advised employers about workplace issues, including employee misconduct, leaves of absence, harassment, discrimination and wage and hour issues.
Prior to joining Roxborough, Pomerance Nye & Adreani LLP, Mr. Witt worked for a boutique litigation firm representing clients in state and federal courts in a range of matters including employment and civil rights.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Through mediation, achieved favorable settlements on behalf of numerous employers in wage & hour class actions and individual actions alleging wrongful termination and discrimination.
Successfully obtained dismissals of multiple investigations conducted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) on behalf of employers.
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a large staffing company, resulting in the dismissal of a lawsuit brought by an employee for retaliation and wage & hour violations.
Obtained a class action settlement in excess of $5 million on behalf of a class of over 7,000 security guards for claims arising out of improper meal and rest breaks.
Obtained a class action settlement on behalf of roughly 2,050 class members who were robocalled in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
